Practice Session for M&A Vocabulary

Objective: To enhance participants’ proficiency in M&A vocabulary and develop critical thinking skills through a simulated board of directors meeting involving a merger between two financial clearing houses.

Instructions 

Step 1: Team Up 

Divide participants into groups, assigning each group as a board of directors for a financial clearing house involved in the merger.

Step 2: Who is Who

Assign roles within each group, such as Chairperson, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Legal Counsel, and Integration Manager, and practice introductions.

Step 3: Background

Provide participants with background information on the proposed merger between the two clearing houses and its potential impact on the financial industry.

Step 5: Start Speaking

Encourage participants to engage in open discussions and debates, using the M&A vocabulary to analyze the potential benefits and challenges of the merger.

Use «this is (name)» to identify yourself as you make comments and participate in the meeting.
