Do you have trouble with Silent Letters in English?

Why are words so hard to pronounce in English?

What is a syncope?

Definition: noun: syncope

1: the loss of one or more sounds or letters in the interior of a word (as in bus’ness for business, and the words below)

2: loss of consciousness resulting from insufficient blood flow to the brain : FAINT

The definition relates to (1) linguistics, which is the case today, and the other definition (2) is for medicine, so ask your doctor friend about it. This is one of the causes of omissions of sound in English. Silent letters often appear in the middle of words making it quite difficult to pronounce them correctly at native speaking speeds.
